The Story Behind Von Draft
The Truck
Our 1945 vintage Ford truck was originally manufactured during World War II, a time when the United States Government restricted automobile production to vehicles intended for the Armed Forces and farming needs. Now 78 years old, this truck has truly stood the test of time. It has been carefully restored to closely resemble its original state, retaining all the characteristic sounds you would expect from a vehicle of its age. While it may not be the fastest truck on the road, it makes a memorable impression as it serves ice cold beer at your next event.

Name Origin
The name “Von Draft” has a special significance. The German word “Von” translates to “From,” while “Draft” refers to any beverage kept in and served from a barrel or tank—such as draft beer. The term can also refer to the first version of an idea, as in a “first draft.” The founder’s last name, “Von Achen,” meaning “from Achen,” inspired the name of the company: Von Draft.
